1 Peter 3:15-16
“15But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,”
“16keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.”
This is the verse that inspired me to create this explanation.
Observation of Society
- Let’s say that God doesn’t exist as it is described in the Bible.
- But I still want to have a good human experience, I observe society.
- I can see a lot of stressed, depressed, anxious people
- I also see people enjoying life but not being fulfilled (some rich people)
- Some others creating their own philosophies about God, living freely but still feeling disconnected
- I also see people who are truly fulfilled, and following God in a genuine way
- It's clear to me that there are people who are distracted, and others who are intentional and seek Truth and understanding in life.
- I want to join the ones who are seeking Truth.
Defining Distractions VS Truth
- There are principles in life that apply to everything we see in reality
- There are patterns, practices, beliefs, and we can all observe the results of such principles on people's lives
- For example:
- Distractions
- Instant gratification → easy to desire, not intentional → problems arise
- Not intentional means there's no energy invested
- Truth
- Good values → difficult, intentional → better human experience
- Intentional means there's energy and effort invested
- A lot of society's problems come from way too many people being distracted, and being misaligned with Truth
- So it makes sense to follow good values, habits, difficult stuff, but better in the long-term.
